The collegiate court of Naples has acquitted Tempio judge Vincenzo Cristiano and entrepreneur Umberto Galizia of the charge of corruption in judicial acts. Cristiano was arrested in Tempio in 2016 by the police, when he was a investigating judge in Gallura, on charges of having received material from Galizia for a pizzeria in San Teodoro of which he was a partner.

Today the last hearing of the trial was held in Naples, because the agreement between the two would have taken place in Campania, even if the material facts would have happened between Olbia and San Teodoro. Cristiano was accused of having received some furniture, which then ended up in the pizzeria .

The public prosecutor requested an acquittal, with the defense (through the lawyer Giovanni Azzena) always maintaining that Cristiano had never subjugated the office to any interests of Galizia. The judges accepted this thesis. Since 2016, Cristiano has been suspended from service .
