A fatal accident occurred last night on the Sassari-Olbia road, near Ploaghe. Around 1:00 a.m., a 44-year-old orthopedic doctor from Bitti, Ciriaco Meloni, crashed his Panda into a wild boar for reasons currently under investigation, and was thrown from the vehicle.

The emergency services, which immediately arrived on the scene along with the traffic police and the fire brigade, were in vain.
