Today, investigating judge Giuseppe Grotteria decided that the "ban on practicing the profession of educator with a ban on related activities" is no longer necessary and, at the same time, ordered the release of the facility , where the professionals no longer work, and for which the community has announced it will install cameras.
The accusations arose from an investigation launched last year by the State Police and the Flying Squad, which had recorded alleged violence against some disabled minors , guests in the facility under a residential regime.
Ten days ago, the measures were issued against the educators who, in recent days, participated in the preliminary hearing, reporting on what allegedly happened and providing their versions. Three of them gave spontaneous statements, one was questioned. Some admitted to "restraining" behavior, also to prevent the children from harming themselves . The person in charge of the case is Ermanno Cattaneo. The lawyers are Anastasia Fara for the Rifugio Gesù Bambino, Marco Palmieri, Umberto Carboni, Martina Salaris, and Mariano Mameli for the educators.
