A year after the Conca Entosa crime , Emanuele Ragnedda reiterates his position with a letter that, through his lawyers, he obtained from Bancali prison.
The Arzachena entrepreneur also addresses Cinzia Pinna's family. Ragnedda says: "After months of suffering and reflection, I am breaking my media silence to call for the respect, prudence, and due process this tragedy deserves. This event has overwhelmed and disrupted the lives of two human beings, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and of their respective families and communities. In recent months, I have remained helpless in the face of the creation of a narrative based on partial, sketchy, and often completely false information. A narrative that has led to the deterioration of emotional, family, and social bonds, in which far too much has been taken for granted. Until now, I have chosen to accept all of this out of respect for the pain this event has caused us all. Now I feel compelled to reiterate what I have experienced."
"I found myself," he said, "in the worst possible human condition: having to defend myself from a violent, unprovoked, and unmanageable attack. A reaction dictated by the instinct of survival that, unfortunately, had a tragic and involuntary outcome. I faced the following days in a state of disbelief and anguish until I found the strength to tell the authorities everything and commit myself to justice with all my heart, taking responsibility for a desperate act committed under unmanageable circumstances. Circumstances that only those like me who have lived through it can truly understand. I realize, in retrospect, that those twelve days between the event and her confession added further anguish and pain to Cinzia's family, and for this I ask forgiveness today ."
