Feeling ill while bathing, he dies in Chia in front of his wife and children

A bather died before 2pm in Su Giudeu, Chia, on the Domus de Maria coast: the victim is a 42-year-old tourist from the Modena area (and not 30, as initially emerged) who was at the seaside with his wife and two sons. His name was Francesco Fregni.

According to an initial reconstruction, he fell ill while he was in the water with his family.

The lifeguards from the establishments in the area arrived to help him (there are no public operators there), even with a defibrillator.

Resuscitation attempts, even when the 118 operators arrived, proved useless. According to the latest information, the Areus coastal first aid station has not yet been activated in the area. Unfortunately, not even the arrival of the air ambulance helped.
