A shed of abandoned cars is on fire, a column of black smoke over Quartu

A thick column of black smoke rose this afternoon in Quartu, around 7 pm, and became visible for miles.

The flames broke out in an area close to 554 where abandoned cars are piled up.

The fire brigade intervened immediately, armed with breathing apparatus and faced the blaze and started the clean-up operations. The tires were the cause of the "black".

Despite the magnitude of the phenomenon, no particular damage has been reported.
