A large cannabis plantation and various weapons and ammunition.

This is what the Carabinieri of the Ozieri Company found, together with their colleagues from the Sardinia Hunters Squadron of Abbasanta on agricultural land in Ozieri.

The raid was launched two days ago, on July 28, following some targeted observation operations by the Hunter Squadron that allowed them to document the illegal activity carried out by a breeder with no criminal record residing in Tula.

A total of 1,880 marijuana plants were seized. The breeder was immediately apprehended and arrested, and searches of his vehicle and business were initiated. Officers found a double-barreled shotgun, altered and with its serial number removed, whose parallel barrels and buttplate had been hand-cut to make it easier to conceal. Seventeen shotgun cartridges (four .22-caliber, two .16-caliber, and eleven .12-caliber) and a blank-firing pistol with its red cap removed were also seized.

The man claimed ownership of the weapon and, without resistance, was taken to the Ozieri Company offices and arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen goods, and illegally manufacturing narcotics. This morning, during the validation hearing, the investigating judge ordered his house arrest.

A crew from the 10th Helicopter Unit of Olbia also participated in the operation, flying over the area of interest to provide air cover for the soldiers called to intervene and apprehend the individual.
