Last night, Carabinieri patrolled a large portion of the province of Cagliari , including the Dolianova, Sanluri, and San Vito units. The operation, aimed at preventing theft, drug use, and dangerous driving, resulted in the arrest of 69 cars, 112 people, and several public establishments.
In Dolianova, a mobile patrol stopped a 22-year-old worker, a resident of Serdiana, found with two doses of hashish, totaling over six grams. The substance was seized, and the man was reported to the Prefecture.
In Sanluri, the night was more hectic. A 32-year-old local driver, already known to law enforcement, reportedly fled after the Carabinieri ordered him to stop on Via Aldo Moro. The chase lasted only a few moments and ended when the car struck the fence of an integrated community on Via Sardegna. The man was not injured.
A breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol levels were above the legal limit. He was reported, his license was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded. The fire department was also on the scene to secure the area.
At the same time, other checks were conducted in the areas of San Vito, Armungia, Ballao, Villasalto, and Muravera. Here, officers reported four people found in possession of small quantities of drugs: a 37-year-old resident of Siurgus Donigala, with hashish; a 24-year-old from Villasimius, with marijuana and hashish; a 19-year-old, also from Villasimius, found with a homemade joint and other amounts of marijuana; and a 43-year-old from Villaputzu, with marijuana and hashish.
