A newborn baby in life-threatening condition was rushed from Cagliari to Rome by an Italian Air Force plane.

The little patient, needing to reach the "Bambino Gesù" as quickly as possible, traveled with her mother and a medical team on a Gulfstream G650 of the 31st Wing, which landed at Ciampino airport.

The aircraft was activated at the request of the Cagliari Prefecture to the Situation Room of the Milan Air Squadron Command of the Italian Air Force, which immediately contacted the 31st Wing at Ciampino. After completing all necessary procedures by the military crew, the G650 took off from Cagliari Airport in the early afternoon, where the newborn, arriving from the University Hospital of the Sardinian capital, was immediately boarded along with her mother and a medical team.

After landing at Ciampino Airport, shortly after 4:00 PM today, an ambulance took him to Bambino Gesù Hospital for hospitalization.
