"Why not give the people of Cagliari a second Poetto, in Sant'Elia?" Mayor Massimo Zedda had said it during the election campaign. Declared intentions that are starting to take shape. If not concrete, at least transferred into a resolution of the Council. Which also wants to relaunch Giorgino.

The executive that governs the capital has approved the "operational guidelines for the development of planning activities of the maritime state property for tourist accommodation purposes in the municipal territory": to be exploited there are just under 100 thousand euros that come from a regional funding.

The primary objective is to update the urban plan of the coastline currently in force. Furthermore, "the current state of the beach must be verified from the position of the shoreline to the consistency and perimeter of the biotic and abiotic resources, in particular the dunes and the plant system. The current state must be compared with that represented in the current Pul in order to verify compliance with the regulatory provisions".

But the Council also wants a study on the «Sant'Elia beach near the Scoglio» and on the one «formed at the connection to the Molo di Levante breakwater, at the end of the Lungomare di Sant'Elia, in order to verify the possibility of creating a larger beach integrated with the Parco degli Anelli».

To be taken into consideration, in addition to monitoring for the redevelopment of Calamosca, also «the beach of Giorgino in order to allow its use with adequate beach services and all possible service equipment».
