The long legal case involving the A-Mare beach club has reached a crucial new stage. The Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the indictment of five individuals linked to companies involved in the construction of the tourist complex on the Calabona cliffs in Alghero. The preliminary hearing judge will now evaluate the request and decide whether to proceed to trial. At the heart of the investigation are the interventions carried out in the coastal area south of Alghero: according to the Prosecutor's Office's reconstruction , approximately 900 square meters of land were altered through the elimination of Mediterranean vegetation, the modification of the natural terrain, and the installation of structures and artifacts deemed non-compliant with the issued permits .

The disputes range from landscape and urban planning violations to crimes against cultural and landscape heritage .

For the Legal Intervention Group , which has followed the matter since the work began and has been identified as the injured party in the proceedings, the request for indictment confirms the validity of the complaints made over the past two years. The association maintains that a particularly sensitive stretch of coastline has been transformed in a manner incompatible with existing environmental constraints. The Società dei Bagni del Corallo (Coral Baths Society ) takes a different stance, continuing to assert the full legitimacy of the project.

The company recalls having obtained all the necessary permits through the involvement of nineteen public bodies and reiterates that the works carried out were temporary , precarious, and completely removable. In recent weeks, it also announced that it would not open for the 2026 season, denouncing the employment impact of the situation on over twenty seasonal workers and on the local supply chain.
