It is the last farewell to Mario Fabiani, a highly regarded artist from Cagliari who passed away on Saturday at the age of 69. The funeral took place this morning, with the Basilica of Bonaria packed to capacity : many wanted to say their last farewell to the singer-songwriter who, starting in the late Seventies, has been appreciated beyond the regional borders, with second place at the Festivalbar in 1987 with the song "Stella stella".
Fabiani was born in Cagliari, his registered name was Mario Macciocco and he had been fighting a serious illness for some time. For the funeral, in addition to friends, acquaintances and admirers, there was also a group of Cagliari fans : in 1994 Fabiani had composed the rossoblù anthem "Cagliari grande", which was partly released at the end of the ceremony.
