Tortolì, a large turtle was rescued from being entangled in fishing nets.

A turtle in difficulty was rescued by a passerby at the Orrì beach.

Gianluigi Cattari was walking on the first beach with his 16-year-old dog Morischedda when he came across the animal, which was on the shore near some fishing gear, entangled in some nets.

The man immediately reported the incident to the relevant authorities, who took charge of the turtle for treatment.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time these splendid specimens have been found in distress, due to ingesting plastic, injuries caused by boat propellers, or being entangled in fishing gear, as appears to be the case in this case.
