A large fire is threatening homes in Seulo . The flames broke out shortly before 1 p.m. in the wooded area of Congiolus and spread quickly, reaching the town center.

Four helicopters from the regional fleet arrived on site, including the Super Puma , departing from the bases of S. Cosimo, Sorgono and Fenosu and 3 Canadairs from Olbia.

The firefighting operations were coordinated by personnel from the Aritzo Forestry Corps station.

Numerous firefighting teams responded to the scene: seven Forestas firefighting teams from construction sites in Seulo, Aritzo, Sadali, Villanovatulo, and Nuoro; three volunteer teams from Tonara, Meana Sardo, and Laconi; and three firefighting teams from Mandas, Villagrande, and Sorgono.

By dropping water bombs on the area affected by the fire , an attempt is being made to contain the fire before it reaches a canal, a second wooded area and other houses .

No evacuations have been ordered yet, but the mayor is in constant contact with the Civil Protection Department.
