The boats of the fleet organized to say no to the wind invasion have arrived at the Portoscuso pier.

Welcoming the participants were the mayor of Portoscuso, Ignazio Atzori , and Father Antonio Mura, parish priest of Portoscuso and head of Pastoral Care for Labor for the diocese of Iglesias.

Also arriving from Carloforte is Salvatore Obino, president of the No Energy Speculation Carloforte Committee, which is organizing the event. The leaders of the tuna fisheries of Carloforte and Portoscuso will also be there, along with dozens of people who will be participating from land.

Weather conditions don't allow for sailing very far, but the event will still be held offshore as a symbolic act of defense of the sea.

"We couldn't miss out today," says Ignazio Atzori. "This invasion of renewables is unacceptable, especially in a region where industry is dying and no one is doing anything to provide real alternatives for employment. Our environment has already been devastated; we are here to say no to further devastation and the total lack of answers."
