The Forestry Corps is responding with the support of a helicopter from the Fenosu operations base to a fire in the Canaioba area of the municipality of Siapiccia . The Villaurbana Forestry Station is coordinating the firefighting operations on site.
Meanwhile, today, several areas of the island, including the Oristano area, are under yellow alert for fire risk, as announced yesterday by the regional Civil Protection Department in a bulletin.
"The conditions are such," the bulletin specifies, "that, once triggered, the event, if addressed promptly, can be countered with the deployment of ordinary ground forces, possibly supplemented by the use of light regional aircraft." The regional operational phase is "Attention."
