A fiery inferno erupted overnight on Via Balai in Porto Torres. Three parked vehicles were burned in a matter of minutes in a blaze that started shortly after 11 p.m., likely from a Renault van owned by a 63-year-old tourism entrepreneur from Porto Torres.

Strong winds fanned the flames, causing them to spread to nearby vehicles. The van was located between a Fiat Panda, which was hit by the flames and had been seriously damaged in the front compartment, and a Hyundai Tucson, which had been destroyed in the rear.

The owners, all residents of Via Balai, near the intersection with Via Benedetto Croce, took to the streets after neighbors raised the alarm, concerned about the loud noise caused by the bursting tires.

Local firefighters were on site and had to battle strong winds to prevent the flames from spreading further, potentially causing further damage to nearby cars.

Carabinieri from the Porto Torres company are also at the scene of the fire, investigating the origins of the blaze. They are awaiting the firefighters' report, which has not ruled out any cause.
