A failed robbery of an armored vehicle occurred this morning between Gerrei and Parteolla, on State Road 387, in the Sant'Andrea Frius area. The bandits set up a roadblock and waited for the armored vehicle to arrive, but were spotted by both the driver and several motorists, who raised the alarm.
According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri investigating the case, four hooded individuals armed with rifles attempted to block the armored vehicle by parking several cars across the roadway and setting them on fire. The driver of the armored van managed to make a last-minute maneuver and escape.
Carabinieri officers from the Dolianova Company and the Cagliari Investigative Unit responded to the scene, securing the area and launching technical investigations. "The search is underway to locate those responsible," the force explained, "with the activation of the prefectural anti-crime plan and numerous checkpoints along the main roads in the area."
