The Nuoro Carabinieri provincial command conducted an operation in Baronia and the Gulf of Orosei to combat illegal short-term rentals.

In recent days, the military has focused attention on the thriving illegal tourism industry to combat illegal tourism and unfair competition.

Particularly heavy fines were imposed on three irregular accommodation facilities. In Torpè, a business was fined €3,000 for not having distinctive signs and a CIN (the national identification code required of all accommodation facilities offering short-term rentals).

Another property in Posada will have to pay €6,000 because it was found to be without a CIN, insurance policy, and fee schedules.

In Orosei, a vacation rental was discovered that was registered as a short-term rental. The owner of this property will have to pay €4,000. Finally, a €666 fine was imposed on a San Teodoro accommodation facility for not having the required price lists.
