A Carabinieri lieutenant, originally from Macomer, was instrumental in a last-minute rescue of a man attempting suicide. Lieutenant Alberto Bosu, originally from Macomer, who has been serving for many years in Castagnole Lanze, a town near Alba in the Langhe region, in command of a patrol, wasted no time in learning of the act a 51-year-old local man was about to commit. After receiving a desperate phone call from his partner, he sped off.
The would-be suicide had locked himself and his car in a garage. He wanted to put an end to the fumes, but thanks to the quick response of the Carabinieri, the man was saved in extremis. Lieutenant Alberto Bosu, along with another Sardinian soldier , arrived on the scene just in time and were able to take the man to the hospital, thus saving his life.
Everyone in the Langhe is talking about the soldier's intervention, originally from Macomer. "I was only doing my duty," says Alberto Bosu. "I also told the man that life is beautiful and you have to live it, facing problems like so many others do."
Bosu is so attached to his hometown that he never misses an opportunity to dedicate himself to Sardinian singing, with the Città di Macomer choir, of which he is a member.
