A head-on collision occurred on Via Sassari, a short walk from the center of Porto Torres. Three people were injured in the violent collision that occurred around midnight:30 a.m. today, July 23. According to initial reports, a man in a BMW headed downtown crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with an Alfa Romeo traveling in the opposite direction. The car spun out and smashed the window of the Scaccia pharmacy into pieces.
Three people were injured in the accident. They were immediately treated by 118 emergency medical workers, alerted by residents. After receiving initial treatment, the injured were rushed to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari.
Firefighters from the Sassari provincial command responded to the scene, securing the area and regulating traffic. Carabinieri officers from the Via Antonelli company conducted surveys to reconstruct the exact events.
