The nine-year-old boy, a resident of a Gallura town, is not in danger of dying, but he suffered several injuries, including to his face. He was attacked by two Amstaff dogs while walking on the street last night. The attack occurred while the boy was with other older children.

The two animals, whose presence had already been reported several times, apparently attacked the younger child , causing injuries to his arms, legs and, above all, his face.

Immediately rescued, he was taken to the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari where his wounds were stitched and he underwent plastic surgery.

The Carabinieri from the local station arrived at the scene of the attack and are now investigating to understand who the two dogs belong to and why they were found free.
