A six-year-old boy was hit this afternoon while riding a small bicycle in Villanovaforru, along Via Sanluri.
His condition is extremely serious: the child was transported to Brotzu Hospital aboard the Areus air ambulance. He suffered a craniofacial trauma and will be kept under close observation overnight in the Cagliari hospital's trauma center.
According to initial reports, the vehicle, an Ape, was driven by a local pensioner , who immediately stopped to provide first aid. The child's parents witnessed the scene; they were with the baby.
The Carabinieri of Furtei intervened at the scene of the accident, and will have to reconstruct the dynamics.
Luckily, another child who was with his seriously injured friend was not involved.
