A 43-year-old worker dies after getting out of his broken-down car and being hit on the Sassari-Ittiri highway.

A tragic accident occurred last night on Provincial Road 15, the Sassari-Ittiri route. Luigi Pala , a 43-year-old from Sassari but originally from Usini, lost his life after being hit by a car. The victim had to stop shortly after the Usini turnoff because his car had broken down.
According to an initial reconstruction, Pala crossed the road, perhaps to call for help, and at that moment he collided with the oncoming vehicle. The 43-year-old was thrown onto the asphalt, falling hard to the ground. The driver immediately stopped and called emergency services, including 118, the Carabinieri, and the fire department.
Paramedics attempted to revive the man from Sassari, but unfortunately, there was nothing more they could do. Both the car that struck the 43-year-old and the victim's body have been seized pending further investigation. Luigi Pala, a mechanic by profession and resident of Sassari, worked in a garage in the city . He leaves behind his wife. The Sassari Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to determine the facts and has ordered the seizure of the driver's car and the body, which will be subjected to an autopsy.
