A workplace tragedy occurred this morning at dawn in S'Infurcau, at a waste storage and treatment facility on the border between Oniferi and Orotelli.

An 18-year-old boy, Fabrizio Pittalis from Orotelli, died after being struck in the head by the forklift bucket driven by a colleague. This is the preliminary reconstruction of the incident.

When the 118 emergency workers arrived, there was nothing more they could do for the young man. The Ottana Carabinieri and the Spresal inspectors of the Nuoro Local Health Authority are investigating the accident. Prosecutor Elena Tres is leading the investigation.
