The Nuoro Provincial Council will also be present tomorrow morning in Cagliari's Piazza Palazzo to protest the government's decision to assign three Sardinian penitentiaries to the 41-bis regime.

President Giuseppe Ciccolini formally called the extraordinary session of the Provincial Council.

"The decision to convene the Provincial Council outside of its institutional headquarters represents a clear and conscious move: to affirm the institution's presence and role on an issue that directly affects the local area and the community of Nuoro," the Province announced in a statement. "The Council will meet publicly, as a sign of participation and institutional responsibility, fully respecting the state's responsibilities but with the firm desire to ensure that the voice of the local community is heard . The Province thus intends to reiterate the need for serious, transparent, and shared discussion on decisions that have concrete implications for the local community and the balance of the prison system in Sardinia."
