The officials of the Excise, Customs and Monopolies Agency (Adm) of Sassari and the Operational Section of Olbia seized 150 toys without the CE marking during a joint operation with the personnel of the Annona Unit of the Olbia Police.

The checks were triggered close to the Christmas holidays , in a shop in Olbia which was also fined up to 10 thousand euros. The holder has been reported for attempted fraud in commerce .

The toys were found to lack the necessary CE marking , the relative warnings in Italian, or they bore the non-compliant CE marking, in violation of European legislation.

Among these articles also some Huggy Wuggy puppets , increasingly popular in the contents viewed by children on YouTube: «In the month of May - the Adm reports - these puppets were the subject of a prudential notice by the Postal Police and declared dangerous for children under 13, as reported by a study conducted by the psychologists of the computer crime analysis unit of the Postal Police, the puppet could generate anxieties and fears in children ».
