The CTM is intensifying checks on its vehicles. Eighteen new inspectors, qualified as administrative police officers, will take up their duties. They were sworn in yesterday during a ceremony at Palazzo Bacaredda, after passing an exam, completing a training and professional qualification program.

"The audit activity contributes not only to combating fare evasion, which stands at around 12%," explains General Manager Bruno Useli, "but also to promoting greater awareness of the value of public transport services."

"The role of inspector is a challenging one and requires expertise, balance, and the ability to interact with passengers," observes Fabrizio Rodin, president of CTM SpA. "It's a job that can, in some cases, be thankless, but we all know it's a necessary role to ensure compliance with the rules and the sustainability of the service. Therefore, it's essential that it be performed with the utmost professionalism and, at the same time, with courtesy and care towards passengers."

"We must invest in public transport because it means investing in prevention and safety, reducing accidents, and, consequently, contributing to public healthcare savings," reiterated Mayor Massimo Zedda. "The role of administrative police officers is important because they ensure public transport is monitored and contribute to the proper functioning of the service."
