Sardinia towards Unesco, the 377 municipalities of the island together for the worldwide recognition of the Nuragic heritage
Preliminary draft of the dossier, based on the study of 32 sites, presented to the Ministry of Culture to carry on the application towards Paris
All the Municipalities of Sardinia together for the first time to talk about the development process of the Sardinian nuragic heritage and the Unesco request for the worldwide recognition of the value of the nuraghes . The "Sardinia towards Unesco" Association, at the end of a work that lasted more than two years, presented the Ministry of Culture with the preliminary draft of the project dossier based on the study of 32 sites, which represents the basis for the further progress of the instance towards Paris.
Draft and overall project , entitled "Sardinia island of nuraghi", which will be presented on Wednesday 7 June to the 377 Sardinian mayors , in an appointment organized in collaboration with the Anci , to obtain full approval and collect any useful suggestions.
The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Ex Manifattura di Cagliari , in Viale Regina Margherita, 33, starting at 10.
In addition to all the mayors of Sardinia and the President of the Association "Sardinia towards Unesco" will participate in the meeting - which promoted the important event with Anci and the Foundation of Sardinia, represented on Wednesday by the Director Carlo Mannoni - also the Regional Councilor for Education, Andrea Biancareddu, the President of Anci Sardegna, Emiliano Deiana, who with Alberto Urpi will highlight the active role of the Sardinian Municipalities in the process of approaching world recognition and, finally, the President of the Council of Autonomies local, Cal, Paola Secci.
THE PROGRAM – The works will start at 10 with the institutional greetings. It will continue with the intervention of the President of the Association, Pierpaolo Vargiu, who will illustrate the prospects and objectives of the project and of the meeting.
It will then be up to the vice president Edoardo Balzarini (founding member of the 'Sardinia towards Unesco' Association, former Councilor for Public Works) to highlight the path of the Unesco project dossier, going into the specifics of the next important stages in the programme. Raffaele Paci, Professor of Science and Economics and Statistics and former vice president of the RAS, together with Antonello Sanna, member of "Sardinia towards Unesco" and founder of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Cagliari, will address the issue of development starting from the brand "Sardinia, the island of nuraghi".
The technical session will be followed by the one directly linked to the Communities: the word will therefore pass to the mayors and local administrators who, through their experience and examining the peculiarities of their territories, will enter into the specifics of the valorisation process in which they are involved.
"Sardinia towards Unesco" has presented the application for inclusion in the World Heritage List of the monuments of the ancient Sardinian Nuragic civilization which, since November 2021, has been included in the special Italian "tentative list", drawn up by the Ministry of Culture .
