Sardinian beauty, style, and creativity are taking to the international fashion stage. On Sunday, November 16th, the Hotel Méridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo will host the 42nd edition of The Look of the Year, the event that for over forty years has launched top models of the future and set new global standards of elegance. This year, under the choreographic direction of Luisa Cardinale, Sardinia will once again take center stage with a special fashion show titled "Feminas," a tribute to the creative force and sensitivity of women.

Three Sardinian designers will bring their vision to the catwalk, where tradition and innovation merge in a tale of identity and contemporary art: Irene Piccinnu , who will present hand-painted dresses with women's faces, symbols of beauty and resilience; Marinella Porru, founder of the Preziose Creazioni brand, with her sinuous creations, embellished with jewelry that evoke femininity and Mediterranean elegance; and Rosalba Piras , presenting her hand-woven accessories, hats, and bags, the fruit of hand-crafted know-how reinterpreted with a modern twist. "This adventure began in 2021 with designer Giovanna Campisi, who involved me in the presentation of a national final in Porto Rotondo," explains Luisa Cardinale, "up to the first international edition, where I brought Sardinian designers such as Sonia Flauto and Laura Bianco. The November edition, the second of the event in 2025 after last year's cancellation, will see us in Monte Carlo before a prestigious audience. I'm delighted with my long-standing collaboration with this major event, which allows me to showcase models from around the world with the added value of Sardinian fashion.

The inspiration behind the three artists is rooted in the genius of Maria Lai, a Sardinian artist who, with her symbolic "thread," has depicted life as a network of relationships, a web of bonds that unites and creates harmony. "That invisible thread, made of tradition, creativity, and belonging," she continues, "will once again be the soul of this edition, which celebrates women as guardians and innovators of Sardinian culture. Sardinia's "Feminas" catwalk at The Look of the Year represents not only a recognition of the island's talent, but also an opportunity to promote Sardinian craftsmanship, art, and design in an international context of excellence."

Founded in 1983 in the United States, The Look of the Year has served as a launching pad for fashion icons such as Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bündchen, Linda Evangelista, and Stephanie Seymour. Today, the most recent winners walk the runways of Milan, Paris, and New York Fashion Weeks, becoming international cover stars. With over 50 participating countries and more than 350,000 young people applying to the intense casting process each year, the competition culminates in a global final featuring 50 candidates.
