Sardinia is once again the protagonist of the pages of Topolino . On Wednesday, September 30th, issue 3697 of the weekly magazine published by Panini Comics will feature a story in Sardinian . This is a double treat for the island, as the illustrations were created by Guspini artist Luca Usai , who previously drew the stories dedicated to Tharros and the Giants of Mont'e Prama.

The story was written by Marco Boschi, while Riccardo Regis—Professor of Italian Linguistics at the University of Turin, an expert in Italian dialectology commissioned by Panini Comics for the various translations—enlisted the help of Simone Pisano to translate the dialogues into Sardinian.

The story is titled "Mickey Mouse and the (Un)Involuntary Obstacle" and will also be translated into the dialects of Ancona, L'Aquila, and Ladin. Their respective versions will be distributed in Sardinia, as well as in the Marche, Abruzzo, and Trentino-Alto Adige regions, thus completing the dialect initiative launched several months ago by the weekly magazine Topolino. A cover by Andrea Freccero, featuring Goofy, is also dedicated to the project.

"I'm very happy to have been involved in this project," Luca Usai, the story's illustrator, told ANSA. "This time, unlike other Sardinian stories, it's not set on the island, but in Topolinia. I'm also pleased that the editorial staff chose a Sardinian to draw a story that would then be translated into Sardinian. I worked almost two months to create the drawings. This time, I didn't ink the pages, but Matteo Devincenzi, so the work went much faster." Issue 3697 of the Topolino magazine also features another slice of Sardinia, a story written by Michele Medda and illustrated by Giorgio Cavazzano.
