Up to 750,000 passengers are expected in Sardinian ports during 2025.

The estimate emerged during the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami , the international fair dedicated to the cruise industry, which saw the participation of the AdSP of the Sea of Sardinia , represented by the president Massimo Deiana , and the marketing manager Valeria Mangiarotti.

During the event, the numbers of cruises in Italy were reeled off, which this year - according to forecasts - will register an absolute record, with approximately 14 million and 800 thousand passengers . In this context, it is underlined, the Sardinian port system lands in the national top ten, with a traffic volume whose incidence, on the total number of cruise passengers in transit in the 76 Italian ports of reference, is equal to 5% (therefore between 740 and 750 thousand).

"The 2025 edition of Seatrade Cruise Global certifies the leap in quality of our Port System in the Italian cruise market - explains Deiana - After a gradual and constant growth, our ports land in the top ten of the national ranking, with a contribution of passengers that aims to exceed 700 thousand units starting from this year and that, in the next two years, will further impact in terms of weight and image. Compared to past years, the perception of the growing value of Sardinian ports and the related historical, cultural and landscape offer is increasingly stronger at an international level, increasingly strategic for the cruise itinerary planning activity by the companies . A clear sign - concludes Deiana - that the work carried out in recent years has achieved its main objective: the creation of a highly deseasonalized and stable market, with an offer capable of satisfying the different customer targets and creating important economic benefits for the entire island territory".
