"Sardinia protagonist in the 2022 edition of the Bit of Milan, an important appointment in the trade fair campaign planned by the Region to propose the Sardinian tourist offer in international events. After a comforting recovery in tourism in 2021, we expect a 2022 full of satisfactions. , convinced that the immense landscape and environmental heritage, combined with the wealth of traditions, culture, archaeological and historical monuments, can confirm the island among the most popular tourist destinations for tourists ".

This is the comment of Governor Christian Solinas, on the occasion of the opening of the Milan International Tourism Exchange, inaugurated this morning in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Massimo Garavaglia.

"The investments that the regional council is making in the tourism sector make it possible to make suitable holiday proposals for an increasingly diversified demand, which goes beyond a classic appointment for sea lovers and consecrates Sardinia as the ideal destination for every period of year, "added Solinas.

At Bit this year Sardinia is present with its own exhibition space of 1,027 square meters, almost double the 2020 edition, created in collaboration with Unioncamere and the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari, which hosts 46 operators, out of about 900 total (the 15% comes from 35 foreign countries), representing the various sectors: from hospitality (29 hotels, tourist villages and holiday homes) to services (tour and bus operators, event organization and associations), from religious tourism to tourist consortia.

"The value of Bit in the international tourist market and the importance of the national market for Sardinia (this year 80% of Italians who will travel will choose domestic tourism) have convinced us to expand and improve further, as already in 2020, the spaces and installations dedicated to our tourist offer. We are one of the largest exhibition spaces and we have captured the attention of the public and operators, who stop and admire our exhibition space ", explained the regional councilor to Tourism, Gianni Chessa.
The space reserved for Sardinia is made with natural material (coconut floors and cork walls that simulate tree bark), in some places it is enriched by Sardinian baskets and a wall of plants that emanate the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. In addition, 12 large screens have been installed, for a total of 60 square meters, which transmit images of Sardinia, as well as two “immersive” video projection areas.

There is also an area dedicated to food and wine tasting workshops and a stage for performances of music, dance and singing linked to tradition.

"After the presence at the fairs in Madrid, Paris and Tel Aviv - underlined the commissioner Chessa -, despite the difficulties due to the health emergency, Sardinia could not miss in Milan, an international event of value where to present one's tourist offer. The presence of the island in the tourist market must not be limited to a summer proposal exclusively linked to the sea, but must aim to present, in addition to nature and the environment, also the excellence of the other tourism segments with attractive thematic products, improving the quality of services, training and professionalization of the entire supply chain. Seaside tourism is not enough and to have a better distribution of flows, even in the shoulder months and in the entire island territory, we firmly focus on history and traditions, culture and archeology, on sporting events and slow and religious tourism, wine tourism and congress tourism ".
