The Meloni government has challenged the Sardinia Region's law on student income.
The Council of Ministers, as stated in the press release issued by Palazzo Chigi at the end of the meeting, upon proposal of the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli , examined eleven regional laws and therefore decided to challenge the provision of the RAS no. 8 of 12 March 2026 on the "Regional regulations regarding the establishment of the Study Income (Rest)".
According to the Government, "certain provisions, exceeding their statutory powers and conflicting with state legislation, violate the principle of reasonableness set out in Article 3 of the Constitution, as well as Article 81, paragraph 3, regarding financial coverage."
This is the fourteenth law of the Sardinia Region challenged by the government led by Giorgia Meloni.
