Family businesses in the Island and in other regions of the South represent – the study highlights – 61% of the active businesses in the South and are approximately 217 thousand in total.
As for the main business sectors, the report continues, the manufacturing sector, the wholesale sector and the food industry stand out. The textile sector follows, followed by accommodation and catering.
"In the South - comment Ernesto Lanzillo and Claudio Lusa , respectively Deloitte private leader and Deloitte operate leader - family businesses are structured in terms of governance, are multigenerational and are rooted at a local level to create ever greater economic and social value . In perspective, family businesses in the South, to enhance the legacy in a long-term perspective, are called to favor business development objectives, such as innovation and optimization of resources, ensuring a solid and prosperous future for their entrepreneurial reality also for the benefit of the new generations".
