A good 437.5 million euros from Europe for the development of the agricultural sector and rural areas of Sardinia for the two-year period 2021-2022.

This is the effect of the European Commission's decision to extend the Rural Development Plan for Sardinia 2014-2020 to the two-year period in question. In detail, the allocation for structural measures for investment projects was increased by 121.1 million, the allocation for agro-climatic-environmental measures by 206.6 million, and the allocation for animal welfare by 91.1 million. And part of the resources, 62.2 million, comes from the Next Generation Eu.

The appropriations for the next calls have already been established by the Department of Agriculture: 12 million for investments in farms, 6.2 million for Precision Farming, 28 million for young farmers.

According to the President of the Region Christian Solinas, these are important resources to accompany the revitalization and modernization of companies operating in the rural world.

In this way, explains the commissioner Gabriella Murgia, companies will be able to strengthen their ability to compete on the market also thanks to the necessary generational turnover in the sector.
