“Sant'Arte” is back: three days of events including exhibitions, workshops, seminars and concerts

From tomorrow, Friday 23, to Sunday 25 May it will once again be “Sant'Arte”, the Festival of visual and performing arts born from an idea of the artist Pinuccio Sciola.
Created and coordinated by the Pinuccio Sciola Foundation, the initiative, now in its eighth edition, takes place under the artistic direction of Andrea Granitzio and the organizational direction of Tomaso Sciola.
It starts on Friday 23 May at 4 pm in the spaces of the former Vetreria di Pirri with the presentation of the project “VR Lab – Virtual Sound Garden”, developed as part of the project “Cagliari Digital Lab”, coordinated by Prof. Luigi Atzori of the University of Cagliari.
The project, born from the collaboration between the Sciola Foundation, the University of Cagliari and its Digital Lab, will offer an immersive and multisensory experience in virtual reality within the Giardino Sonoro, with the aim of promoting innovative forms of cultural valorization and accessibility to artistic content.
In addition to the professor of the University of Cagliari Luigi Atzori, Giacomo Cao (President of the Aerospace District of Sardinia) and Josephine Derobe (French author, artist and director active in the fields of cinema, digital arts and live entertainment) will speak.
At 7 pm at the Giardino Sonoro in San Sperate, Enrico Pau's documentary “L'ombra del fuoco” will be screened, preceded by a conversation between the director and Gianluigi Bacchetta, professor of Botany at the University of Cagliari, moderated by the journalist Sergio Nuvoli.

The events of Saturday 24th May
The second day of the Festival will open at 10 am at the Giardino Sonoro in San Sperate with a workshop curated by Davide Volponi in collaboration with Domus de Luna. At 4 pm - in via Marongiu 21 in San Sperate - there will be a conference on the redevelopment of the artist's house, reopened to the public for the occasion. The theme of the relationship between architecture, design, art and nature will be the focus of the meeting with the coordinators of the Landscape, Interior and Spatial Design course of the Design department of the Politecnico di Milano, and an opportunity to discuss the theme of the redevelopment of Pinuccio Sciola's house, soon to become a House Museum.
During the meeting, “Lithic Chord” will be presented, a special project of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, inspired by the intuitions on the elasticity of Pietra di Sciola and the result of the collaboration between the architect Cristina Morbi, formerly of the Polytechnic of Milan and founder of the London-based Studio Matherea, the engineer Francesco Banchini and the director of sound projects of the Sciola Foundation, Andrea Granitzio.
Following the meeting entitled “It is here that the stars are born…”, a round table to bring together artists, philosophers, physicists who share a passion for research and art. Speakers will include Mari Paz de Montecinos (Plataforma Vertices), Arotin and Serghei, Nur time, and the philosopher of science Silvano Tagliagambe. At 8:30 pm Guido Maria Grillo will hold the concert “Senza Fine” in the spaces of the Giardino Sonoro.
The program of the third day
Sunday, May 25 at 4:00 pm at the Giardino Sonoro, eyes on the conference “Sagrada Familia, homage to Gaudì”. “Homage to Gaudi” is the title of a work that Pinuccio Sciola has dedicated to the great Catalan architect, who in his masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia, concentrated research on stone and sound.
The meeting brings together around a table the Founder of the Gaudi Research Centre, Jordi Figueroa, the director of the Museum of Musical Instruments in Barcelona, Jordi Alomar, and Angelo Ziranu, the only Italian architect to have participated in the construction of the majestic Basilica, to disseminate Gaudi's thought and share the architectural and musical experience that gave shape to the Sagrada.
At 8.30pm Dana Al Fardan will conclude the Festival with a concert at the Giardino Sonoro.
