She was sick, and she knew it. A tumor in both lungs with metastases to the brain. It was her son Ciro De Lollis who recounted the last months of the life of his mother, Sandra Milo, who died on January 29th in Rome.

Initially – he explained in the living room of the TV show “Verissimo” – he only had pain in his hip. Her children had suggested that she undergo some tests in view of a possible operation and it was during those tests that the presence of the tumor emerged. He had no pain, only the pain in his hip.

«My mother – said Ciro, the actress's second son – has never smoked in her life. He didn't want anyone to know about this illness but, now that he has passed away, in my opinion it is right that it be known."

Sandra had asked her children to bring her home, not to stay in hospital, and they fulfilled this wish: "I held her hand until the end."
