The food and wine excellences of Sardinia on display in San Teodoro. Vino Village kicks off today, the great food and wine exhibition which will be open until Sunday 4 June from 18.00 to 24.00 and will take place in the streets of the historic center. The event, organized by the association "A Sardinian school" with the collaboration of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Events of the coastal municipality, will have wine as its protagonist, with about 70 percent of the exhibition spaces dedicated to Sardinian wineries.

In the remaining 30 percent of the stands, visitors will be able to taste and learn about the agro-food and handicraft products typical of different realities of the Sardinian hinterland. Honey, jams, creams, liqueurs, oil mills, bakeries, salami factories and dairies and the ever-present nougat, all coming from the best island productions. The artisans of the Teodorini Arts and Crafts Market will also be present at the event, for a nice union in which the local exhibitors of the coastal center mix with food and wine producers and artisans from the rest of the island. A bridge between sea and land that the Gallura Administration wanted to include in the events calendar and to which Nuccio Merone, from Una Scuola Sarda, responded with enthusiasm.

«We lacked an event of this type in our program - declared yesterday the Councilor for Tourism, Luciana Cossu, during the press conference to present the event - we focus on quality events and this is a very important showcase for all exhibitors Sardinians and a stimulus for the productive activities of San Teodoro».

In addition to the exhibition stands, the event involves the numerous restaurateurs of the center who, to further arouse the curiosity of Vino village visitors, will prepare a dedicated menu for the occasion, or a choice of a discount on the card. In addition to delighting the palate, the event also includes a conference, scheduled for Saturday 3 June, entitled "Resources of the territories and tourist values", a scientific study by Professor Carlo Marcetti, during which some tourism and food and wine experts will intervene .

«San Teodoro has one of the highest tourism indices in Sardinia – explained Marcetti at the press conference – and this pushes us to also propose the offer of the neighboring territories and of all of Sardinia to convey the sense of the island». One way to indulge the holiday trend of the last few years has gone more and more towards sustainability, slow and experiential tourism. «It is necessary to build situations that are not just the sea - added the economist - but that value all the strands of sustainability with internal territories that have culture and traditions, first of all the culture of wine, where Sardinia has had important international recognition. The economies of exchange between coastal and inland territories already exist but we need to go even further inland because tourism is no longer just a coast».

A collective vision of hospitality in Sardinia that the mayor of San Teodoro, Rita Deretta, fully shares. «We are also a gateway to many non-coastal municipalities and on several occasions we have made ourselves available to all those countries that can express Sardinian excellence that is not the sea. This is to ensure that those who come to Sardinia find a complete product». The program of the event will open tomorrow with two high quality laboratories: the Vermentino di Gallura vertical of the San Michele Consortium, one of the most prestigious on the island, which will be reserved for operators in the sector, and the ancient bread laboratory of Graziella Frau, which carries on the ancient tradition of Sardinian decorated bread. There are also workshops on oil, nougat, milk and honey. Finally, there will be musical entertainment with performances by the Galòrj Choir, the Sos Oriundos Group and the L'AIdia Choir. The appointment with the Vino Village food and wine exhibition is for tonight starting at 18.00 in San Teodoro.
