It tells the thousand-year history of the Mediterranean and its commercial traffic, preserving finds that go from the Punic age to the Middle Ages. Founded in 1989 by Icimar, the renovated Museum of the Civilization of the Sea was inaugurated yesterday , which, after the recognition by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro, has become the Archaeological Museum of San Teodoro .
One thousand three hundred square meters that house testimonies from the Punic age, including a monetary treasure and a Greco-Italic amphora, from the Roman Republican age and from subsequent periods, including the Giudicale period and the Byzantine age, from which it houses a gold tremissis belonging to the Eastern Emperor Phocas, necklaces, rings and a bronze buckle.
After many years in which they were only a museum warehouse, since yesterday, the spaces of the Mast return to represent and show visitors the identity of the territory of San Teodoro. "Not only an exhibition space - they say from the Mast Museum - but also a meeting point for the entire community where past and present dialogue, where art and culture help us build the future".
