An annual event combining visual and performing arts, illuminating one of the cultural capitals of Campidano. This weekend, the Sant'Arte Festival returns to San Sperate for its ninth edition , running from Friday to Sunday with a program of concerts, debates, an expo, and more, with guests Alice Marras , Marcella Carboni , and Mario Venuti .
Born from an idea by Pinuccio Sciola , the exhibition will inevitably begin with the special opening of the House Museum at Via Marongiu 21 , at 6 pm on Friday : a symbolic and introductory moment to the rest of the days, which takes on even greater importance on the tenth anniversary of the death of the maestro from Sperad. Not a traditional museum, but a place that reveals the most authentic side of Sciola, and during the visit the museum masterplan curated by architect Paola Mura will also be illustrated. From there, we will move to the Giardino Sonoro for a concert by Alice Marras at 9 pm , with the young singer-songwriter presenting her debut project " Tempomora ."
Saturday will instead see a meeting starting in the morning, once again in the Garden with " Re-connessioni ": from 10 am , Davide Volponi 's workshop will see the participation of the children and young people of Domus de Luna , in a reflection on community and regeneration through the recovery of discarded materials to create small symbolic structures. At 12:30 pm , the photographic exhibition " Sguardo su Sciola " by Cristian Castelnuovo will continue, featuring a selection of images dedicated to the master's human and artistic universe, also illustrating his relationship with his works and the local area.
The rest of the evening will continue to focus on the Garden, starting with the talk featuring scientists, philosophers, and popularizers in " Listening to the Universe " at 4:30 pm —a dialogue between art, physics, and the landscape, starting with the Einstein Telescope, revisiting Sciola's theme of listening—and then another live experience, with " Isculta " by Marcella Carboni at 9 pm . This musical project, dedicated to island soundscapes and deep listening, brings together visual art, environmental recordings, and live music, born from a collaboration with Paolo Fresu's Insulae Lab .
On Sunday, the event will resume at 5:30 pm for a final evening among the works of the Sound Garden, opening with a talk on the connections between art, architecture, public space and urban relations in " Between Sardinia and Japan: design between sky, earth, sound and listening ": a comparison between Sciola's thought and Japanese design culture, with a view to the transformations of the city in the contemporary era, starting from the exhibition of the Sounding Stones at Expo Osaka 2026. The grand finale will be at 9 pm , with Mario Venuti performing a guitar and vocal concert , focusing on the emotional power of compositions and words to explore some of the most significant moments in the career of the singer-songwriter from Syracuse, between Mediterranean influences and contemporary musical research.
