At 53, he won his first Italian natural bodybuilding title and is now preparing to represent Italy at the European Championships. Salvo Di Caro, an athlete from Pula, has achieved a significant milestone in the Men's Physique Grand Master Over 50 category, after two years of training, sacrifice, and perseverance.
A success that goes far beyond the medal and which, for Di Caro, demonstrates that chronological age doesn't necessarily have to be a limitation. "Chronological age is just a number that grows every year on your ID card, but biological age is another story: it's the age we choose to achieve day after day, through conscious choices dedicated to our health and well-being," the athlete explains.
The path to the title wasn't easy. Fatigue, disappointments, and restarts accompanied two years of preparation, which he faced with determination until he achieved the most anticipated result. Now a new challenge awaits the champion from Pula: from October 23rd to 25th, he will be in Romania to participate in the European Championships and compete against athletes in his category.
But the message Di Caro wants to convey goes beyond competition. His goal is above all to reach out to younger people, encouraging them to practice sports with honesty, respect, and a focus on their health. "There are no shortcuts: real results come with time, sacrifice, and the right planning," he emphasizes.
A testimony that combines sporting ambition and a culture of well-being, with the awareness that the most important achievement is not just reaching the top step of the podium, but demonstrating that perseverance and dedication can open new paths at any age.
