Almost 160 thousand Sardinian families will go shopping during the winter sales starting on Saturday 4th January and will spend 205 euros per family . The number of those who will shop is slightly increasing (last year it was 155 thousand) and the expenditure per citizen (last year 90 euros, this year the expected figure is 93) .

The estimates are from the Confommercio Research Office, in Southern Sardinia a turnover of over 32 million is expected .

"The Christmas holidays have seen a fair amount of sales, confirming that the 'useful' gift is always the favorite among families - says the director of Confcommercio Sud Sardegna, Giuseppe Scura -. With commerce, sales are also changing. Compared to 10 years ago, when customers waited for the sales to buy that extra item that became accessible with a 30 or 40% discount, today the focus is on buying the 'necessary' items for everyday life . Especially for the middle class, the sales mean being able to buy quality items to wear every day. Pants, shirts, sweaters, jackets, and coats that can still be used in season will certainly be sold".

Confcommercio also reminds the rules. The items on sale must be seasonal or fashionable and must be significantly depreciated if not sold within a certain period. There is also the obligation of the retailer to indicate the normal selling price, the discount and the final price .

Exchanges: the possibility of exchanging an item after purchasing it is generally left to the discretion of the retailer, unless the product is damaged or non-compliant. In this case, the retailer is obliged to repair or replace the item and, if this is impossible, to reduce or refund the price paid. However, the buyer is required to report the defect in the item within two months of the date of discovery of the defect.
