Also in Sardinia the summer sales begin and according to each family will spend on average around 120 euros .

These are the estimates of Adiconsum Sardegna , which underlines how the promotions this year started " under the banner of uncertainty , with consumers wandering around the shops but showing a generalized prudence".

"Thanks to the return of tourists to the island - explains the president Giorgio Vargiu - the shops of the various cities are registering good attendance, but this year the inflation emergency weighs on the choices of Sardinian citizens, with prices soaring, and the expensive-bills , factors that will affect the propensity to buy during the summer sales - According to our estimates, at the end of the discount period the average receipt will be around 120 euros per family in Sardinia, but traders will be able to count on help of foreign tourists present in Sardinian tourist resorts in recent weeks and ready to spend more than Italians ”.

"Never as this year, however, the risk of cheating during the sales is high - says Vargiu - For this reason Adiconsum Sardegna has created a handbook to help the citizens of the island make safe purchases, and makes itself available to consumers to report incorrect behavior ".

So here is the decalogue to avoid nasty surprises :

  • The non-discounted original price, the applied discount percentage and the final price must always be indicated on the item on sale;
  • It is better to be wary of those shops that display signs with exaggerated discounts and to refer to already known shops to buy the goods on sale;
  • Pay attention to the possible presence of goods sold at full price together with the discounted goods;
  • Compare the prices with those of other shops, perhaps noting the price of a garment or of the goods in which you are interested;
  • Check that the product offered in the window is the same that will be presented in the store;
  • Even during the sales period, shopkeepers are required to accept electronic payments (debit and credit cards);
  • Be wary of items of clothing that can only be looked at and not tried on, even if it is at the merchant's discretion whether or not to allow the goods to be tried on;
  • Remember that the shopkeeper is obliged to exchange the product only and exclusively in the case of a defect; the change of color or model is, however, at the merchant's discretion. Adiconsum advises to eventually make arrangements with the shopkeeper during the purchase phase;
  • Always keep the receipt for any changes;
  • If the trader refuses to exchange a defective item on sale or does not want to return the money, contact the Municipal Police and report the case to the local Adiconsum offices.
