The voice of Sardinia and Mediterranean music, the singer Elena Ledda with her Ensemble, will open the 30th edition of the International Festival of Sacred Music tomorrow evening in the Cathedral of San Marco in Pordenone.

The initiative is scheduled until December 20, with 17 concert events in the program directed by Franco Calabretto and Eddi De Nadai.

"Mater - madre" the thematic red thread around which great artists, projects and original musical writings by authors of our time will alternate.

After "Mamma Nosta Soberana", the inaugural concert with Elena Ledda Ensemble, the appointment is on November 16 with the soprano Roberta Mameli in the performance of musical pages by Mauro Montalbetti dedicated to Theodora, the Byzantine empress saint for the Orthodox church E then, on November 29th, it will be the turn of “Mater”, seven meditations for voices and oboe written by the composer Carlo Galante.

On December 6, the famous Italian-Israeli conductor Nir Kabaretti, musical director of the Santa Barbara Symphony in California, will conduct the FVG Orchestra with “Flower in the Desert”, for the voice of contralto Sonia Prina. The German organist Ludger Lohmann will instead be on stage between 3 and 5 December in Udine, Pordenone and Spilimbergo.

Mezzosoprano Cecilia Bernini will perform on 12 December in Stabat Mater, a reprise of Daniele Zanettovich's work.
