Fifty choristers and thirty instrumentalists: an impressive line-up for the event “In nativitate domini”, a symphonic-choral concert that brings together the Luigi Canepa Choral Association and the Santa Cecilia Polyphonic of Sassari. Two appointments: Monday 20 December in the Cathedral of San Nicola in Sassari and Tuesday 21 at the Civic School "Antonietta Chironi" in Nuoro.

The program includes sacred music: the Magnificat in B flat major for solos, choir and strings by Francesco Durante and the cantata "Languet anima mea" by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti, conducted by Matteo Taras, together with Mass n. 2 in G major D167 for solos, choir and strings by Franz Schubert conducted by Luca Sirigu.

The two choirs will be accompanied by the Enarmonia string orchestra, while the soloists, all young Sardinian singers, will be the sopranos Ilaria Vanacore and Valentina Satta, the tenor Claudio Deledda and the bass Francesco Solinas.

“After the long block imposed by Covid, we wanted to communicate a passion for music and faith in the future”, explain the two presidents of the Sassari ensembles, Federico Tolu and Denise Gueye.

The event will be open, but with reservations required.
