The new disruption to Sardinian skies is expected on December 22nd: on that date, the Italian Competition Authority is expected to issue a decision on the nine-figure fine Ryanair faces for abusing its dominant position.
The rumor was first reported by Corriere and confirmed by Fiavet (Italian Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations), which has launched the investigation and has no intention of backing down.
"We are not willing to tolerate the company's bullying and violations of agreements," explains regional president and national deputy Gian Mario Pileri.
Unions are alarmed: there's a risk that connections to and from the island will be further reduced, further isolating Sardinians; or, worse still, that the low-cost airline queen could disappear from the scene.
