In fifteen years, 20 million passengers have been transported to Sardinia by Ryanair flights .

This was announced by the company, which today celebrates the milestone of three decades on the island .

In 2007 the first flight to Pisa which inaugurated the connections on board the low cost airline. A birthday celebrated with a positive trend of summer bookings on 38 routes including the new Palma, Nuremberg, Carcassonne and Poznan.

At the Cagliari base there are 3 airplanes with 350 flights a week and an estimated 2000 jobs between induced and direct for an investment of 300 million dollars ”, explains a note from the company.

"To accelerate the recovery of tourism - says Mauro Bolla, Ryanair country manager - we ask the Italian government to eliminate the tourism tax on all air travel from 2022 to 2025".

In general, numbers are recovering for the Cagliari airport: "We aim to close with two million passengers - said the CEO of Sogaer Renato Branca - with encouraging data because in May and June we register a plus 5 percent compared to 2019. This is also thanks to the three Cagliari-based aircraft from Ryanair ".

Also present was the regional councilor for tourism Gianni Chessa : "These are important numbers - he said - those of the Ryanair company that carry the name of Sardinia around: those who have traveled with low cost airlines may have repeated their trips to Sardinia over time" .
