A new meeting was held at Palazzo Piacentini on the Rwm Italia (Rheinmetall Group) case . The meeting was convened at the end of last week at the Ministry of Mimit, at the suggestion of Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy. The meeting was intended to allow representatives of the Sardinia Regional Council to explain the rationale for the resolution they adopted in recent days, which ordered a further investigation into the favorable opinion already issued by the competent technical bodies following a three-year process.

The proceeding concerns the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for expansion work already completed at the production site. If approved, this project would allow the company to retain 350 workers and hire an additional 250.

As indicated in a note, based on the positions that emerged, Minister Urso reiterated that "we cannot afford to miss such significant development opportunities, especially in a complex area like Sulcis."

Urso then announced that the meeting would be reconvened shortly, expressing his hope that "the workers' future will not be decided in court," where the company has an administrative appeal pending, and that the necessary new information will be provided by the Region as soon as possible, before the TAR's decision, scheduled for October 15th.
