The values of the Constitution, shared political commitment, the search for solutions for the common good: these are the themes on which the meeting in Cagliari with Ernesto Maria Ruffini, who arrived in Sardinia to participate in an initiative organized by the Aldo Moro Study Center, developed.

The former director of the Revenue Agency is getting closer to entering the political field, and is one of the protagonists of Comunità democratica, the new association promoted by Romano Prodi and Graziano Delrio that brings together Catholics from the centre-left area.

Ruffini, who some are considering as a future prime ministerial candidate, is keeping the spotlight off himself for now: "There is too much talk about who and not enough about what," he warns, "a collective effort is needed to give the country a future: to develop a thought, encourage discussion, call together all those who participate to imagine answers to problems that cannot be imposed from above."

The presence of the public in the hall of the Hotel Regina Margherita was very large, for the debate coordinated by the writer Flavio Soriga and with the interventions of the mayor of Iglesias Mauro Usai, the mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda and the president of the surveillance court of Cagliari, Cristina Ornano.
